Stay A While

Stay a while
When the clock strikes one
Don't reach for the door
And draw the blinds
Why are you afraid?
To return to the beginning
And linger in senses' shifting sands
Looking for the shells you left
In the burrows of my heart

Don't go just yet
Our lives are so young
The fruit has not fallen
From the swollen bough
And I have not tasted
The apples of your soul
Which you abandoned
In a filthy bed of tears

Come back again
When you've been gone long enough
To forget who you once were
And that I was once you
That our blood ran in the same river of time
Feeding the dry plains of our minds
Until they became a black hole of freedom
That swallowed us up
Into all oblivion
